The Different Types Of Tranter Heat Exchangers

 A heat exchanger, as the name implies, is a significant piece of industrial equipment specifically designed for heat transfers from one source to another. For the most part, Tranter heat exchangers are used in factories and industries for transporting heat energy. Basically, the piece of equipment is separated by a wall, to prevent mixing up both sources. One of the wall’s sides contains hot fluid, while the other is associated with cool fluid, which would flow down through the channels.   

Tranter heat exchangers are widely used in many industry applications, including natural gas processing, sewage treatment, air conditioning, natural gas processing, petroleum refineries, chemical plants, space, refrigeration, and many more. In some cases, Tranter heat exchangers are used in residential homes.

Double pipe heat exchanger

The double pipe heat exchanger is practically made up of a pipe that is stored inside a different pipe with a larger diameter. The exchanger’s sections are linked in a parallel or series arrangement, depending on the requirement or need. This type of heat exchanger is relatively small, and can be used for transferring small amounts of heat.

Double pipe heat exchangers are categorized according to the type of compact elements found inside them. There are a few types of double pipe heat exchangers available on the market today, including finned tube surfaces, plate fin surfaces, flow normal surfaces, tubular surfaces as well as flattened and circular tubes. All of these heat exchangers feature a core, a couple of parallel plates connected with a metal.

Scrapped surface heat exchanger

The scrapped surface heat exchanger is a device mainly used in cases in which the fluid is going to crystallize on cooling. As a heat exchanger, this device has a broad array of applications, including petrochemical, pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries.

Regenerative heat exchangers

Regenerative Tranter heat exchangers store heat, and take it out from a surface. This type of heat exchanger is built with a matrix that moves easily. A regenerative heat exchanger, however, is vulnerable to fluid and leakage problems. Nonetheless, this heat exchanger is used broadly used for air preheating in electrical power generating stations.

Spiral heat exchanger

A spiral heat exchanger is made up of a couple of parallel plates that are arranged in a spiral formation. Its open side are sealed, and set in place by clamps. The bottom and top covers can be removed, which would allow the user to easily change the spiral exchanger.

Shell and tube heat exchanger

The shell and tube Tranter heat exchangers are, without question, the most commonly used heat exchangers these days. Basically, these heat exchangers are made up with circular tubes that are attached their cylindrical shells. For the most part, these types of heat exchangers are found in waste heat recovery applications as well as chemical and petroleum-refining industries. 

Plate and frame exchanger

Plate and frame exchangers are designed with thin plates that cannot handle a tremendous amount of pressure and temperature. They are fairly light and small, and are mostly used in oil production platforms and ships.
